Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, Mangalore celebrated the 66th Independence Day of India on 15th August at 8.20 am on the school grounds. The Chief Guest of the day Mr. Ajith Kumar Hegde, Commissioner, MUDA and Executive Director of Pilikula Nisargadhama hoisted the National Flag. The students of 4 houses – Blue Bells, Orchids, Anthuriums, Tulips and the Scouts and Guides marched in house uniform rhythmically to the patriotic tunes played by the school band. This was followed by a meaningful cultural programme. It was a meaningful and a festive day for the staff, students and parents at Mount Carmel.
